Spring Fling 2005 Was a Blast! |
It's a few weeks past our Spring Fling and Paul & I are still flying high! Wow! What a weekend! It just confirmed to us (once again) that we are with the right company! How exciting to be where we are. I'm not talking about just me and Paul, but all of us! Don't you just feel like you're in THE place to be?
We can't say how much fun it was to meet new friends. That's one thing that this business has given us - a whole group of new REAL friends! It's very refreshing to be around like-minded people! Something that you definitely need to succeed!
The family atmosphere of convention was just unbelievable! If you were there, I'm sure you also felt that special sense of belonging - like being just one of the family!
We personally left there with more commitment and more confidence in what we're doing. We talk about goals everyday - where we want to be, what we want to have. And it's not to live like kings, but to have prosperity and freedom and knowledge knowing we can do whatever we want whenever we want. Wow! Once you get that vision in your head, you become unstoppable. A happy, positive ray of light that wants to share the opportunity with everyone you know - and don't know! That's one thing that I figured out a couple months ago; it's not about me (or us). It's about letting everyone in on your little secret so that THEY can have the prosperity and freedom that they want. It's about sharing. And it's through this that you reach your goals.
I have to say that the entire weekend was beyond fantastic! But one of the highlights of the weekend for me was giving my testimonial on stage. I was so nervous that I told Paul before I got up, "When I'm done, if I run straight out the door, I'll be back!" I was terrified - a total ball of knots - but once I got up there, I felt at ease. One thing that I have learned is that I may be nervous about talking to someone, but once I start talking about our company, opportunity, products, or whatever, I get relaxed and energized at the same time. Thank you to Jackie and John for giving me that opportunity!
Where else can you have so much fun? Singing karaoke and dancing with owners of the company?? Try to do that somewhere else - bet it won't happen! Being able to talk and brainstorm and really get to know your sponsor or our directors - try to do that somewhere else - bet they won't be as eager to talk to you as they are here! What a wonderful, special, fun thing we have!
Thank you for giving us the time to share our thoughts and feelings about the Fling and our company! We truly mean every word of it! Can't wait for the Fall!
As they say - See you at the top!

| 2004 Distributors of the Year: Lise & John MacFadden |
COMPANY NOTE: John and Lise came on board exactly one year ago at the 1st annual Spring Fling. In that first year they worked their way up to the prestigious DIRECTOR rank. They were instrumental in getting Scent-Sations into Canada, created the successful Burn and Earn auto responder system, created our first CD business opportunity presentation and their work in putting together a terrific audio/visual presentation at the 2nd Spring Fling took the whole event to another dimension.

We want to thank everyone who spent so much time and effort on this Spring Fling. The professionalism of all the Directors and the Owners and Staff of Scent-Sations is outstanding. Gathering people on a team who can work effectively together is an awesome task. The strong, effective leadership that is apparent in this company takes everything we do to a higher level. It's really fantastic to be a part of an organization that respects the efforts of others and works so hard to make us all feel good about what we can contribute! Everyone was there as a part of one big happy team and it was evident how much we all enjoyed it.
We have been fortunate enough to attend every "Fling" so far! We were first introduced to the Mia Bella line of products last March at the very first Spring Fling and that was when we made the decision to join! It's been an amazing journey ever since! Meeting Bob and Christine Murray (our sponsors) for the first time really was the icing on the cake for us! Having more than 50 of our BURN and EARN team with us from all over the US and Canada was also a great privilege and we appreciate the sacrifices that each of them had to make to get there.
We have to say, this Spring Fling was the best ever! There was so much positive energy in the room and we learned so much. It's always awesome when you can learn new tips and tricks and use them to improve your business. Every single speaker had something valuable to share and it contributed to the energy in the room on both Friday and Saturday. We slept really well on Thursday night, but Friday and Saturday night didn't allow us much sleep at all! There was so much excitement - who could sleep?
We had the privilege of meeting many new distributors in our downline as well as other distributors. As a result, we forged some new friendships that we know will last a very long time! That's what is so wonderful about this company and the nature of our products. They may not cure cancer or take away your pain, but they make everybody feel good and they put a smile on your face! It's the easiest product to share and we're so happy to be a part of this company! We love all the new products too and thanks so much for all the freebies!
Last but not least, thank you again for choosing us for the "Distributor of the Year - 2004" award! It means much more than you can know. We promise to live up to it!

When I started with Scent-sations two years ago, I was at a real crossroads in my business. I really didn't know what I wanted to do with my "networking" career because I was burned out on so many things within the industry. I was intrigued at the thought of candles, because I have always burned lots of candles in my home, and give them as gifts frequently (even more frequently now!).
But, most of all, I was intrigued at the thought of working with Charlie Umphred because he represents the kind of integrity and leadership that is at the heart of what Network Marketing is all about.
So, after several hours on the phone with both Charlie and Bobby, I sat down with a pen and paper and wrote out the pros and cons of starting this business. The "pros" side was very long and the cons came down to really one thing - me, and my "non-home party side." Could I make a business like this work without doing a lot of home parties?
Then, I played the "what if" game. What if this business would work? What if something as simple as a candle could create what I wanted in this industry? What if I would be willing to put aside my own issues, and work it hard for a year, and then evaluate? And, then the biggest one - what if this business goes on to become what I believe it will and I am not a part of it?
Yikes, that one did it! No way was I not going to give it my best shot and partner with a company and management team that I truly believe will create a dynasty in this industry! They were not doing this without me.
Well, I signed up, ordered 2 cases of candles (since we didn't have the Fast Start Pack then), brochures and postcards. I didn't tell my husband until the candles arrived. He has always supported me in every endeavor, but I thought he might commit me on this one. He did raise his eyebrows but gave me his full support. After all, he lights candles around the house, too!
I played around with the business for about 6 months. I had two home parties (yes, me!) did a few Farmer's Markets, a few fund raisers and sponsored a few people and the business began to grow. In November of 2003, through a life changing event, I made the decision to make Scent-sations my full time endeavor. I made a commitment to put my nose to the grindstone and not look up for at least one year. And, that's what I did. At the end of that year, I had a healthy paycheck and was named one of the first three Director's with the company.
And, most importantly, I knew I had found my niche, and a business that my whole family could embrace. I also knew that I had found a vehicle that I could really use to enhance the lives of others. This was the perfect marriage of product and opportunity.
Now, I am thrilled to be named one of the first Senior Directors, and more thrilled to know what lies ahead. This business is headed into the stratosphere and I AM going to be a part of it. And, I am going to share it with as many people as I can and invite them along for the ride.
I encourage every person either involved in or evaluating our company to do the "what if" test for yourself. What if this business works for you the way it has for me and my family? What if you can enhance the lives of others through your involvement? What if you miss this and don't grab hold now and help us make history?
Put a Mia Bella under the nose of a friend and watch his or her face light up. Whether they buy or not, they will love your product and have a good feeling about it. This is a "feel good" product and what more can you want in a stressed out world. This is a product and a business that everyone enjoys - men, women, young, old, etc.
I still have that paper that I wrote all of the pros and cons on. Isn't it funny how so often it's our own personal doubt that stops us from doing something? Believe in yourself and your ability to make a difference in your own life and the lives of hundreds and even thousands of others.
I believe in you!
Jackie Ulmer, CA
Senior Director
The Spring Fling this year was the most fun filled episode in my life, having met so many fantastic people. I feel deeply honored to have been part of such an elite group. This has been a wonderful year of seeing people grow with Scent-sations. Of all the conventions and company events I have been involved with, I will always cherish this event.
It was an honor to have received the Sr. Director plaque along with Jackie Ulmer, who is becoming an icon in network marketing. It was exciting to see John and Lise MacFadden and Shep and Jan Kuester pick up their Director awards as well, and of course witnessing Lise and John receive the well-deserved "Distributor of The Year" award. I congratulate all who received awards and am grateful to have gotten to know them
This is the foundation, the ground floor of something that will be very big in the next five years. If I was ever given a gift from God, it has been a gift of intuitively knowing, on occasion, if some great event or events will happen.
In 1980 I saw that the video movie rental business was going to explode in a few years, so i opened the first video store on the south shore of long island. You all know what happened to that industry, and I had a very prosperous experience until I sold that business 7 years later.
In 1987, after talking with some of the leaders of my first network marketing experience, I knew in my heart that that company, which was very small at the time, would become a major well-known $500 million dollar company, and many millionaires would be made. Five years later, that prediction had come true. Fortunately, I worked hard and positioned myself in front of the wave of growth that began after 18 months of when i joined that company and ended up earning more money each month than the average person earns in three years!
I never had that same feeling about my second and third company. I just hoped it would happen, but it never did for reasons I don’t want to illuminate.
On November 2, 2004, after meeting Bobby, Charlie, Carmen and Lynn in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. I came away with the same feeling I had about my first networking company, and I predicted to myself that this company would someday be one of the giants of not only the candle industry, but the direct sales and network marketing industries as well and I knew that I would have to muster up enough energy and courage to come out of retirement and give network marketing and the Scent-sations business my last big shot. The main reason that this was an easy decision to make was that I had a strong belief in the men that run this company. Bob and Charlie's belief rubbed off on me, and i started to project 2 to 5 years and more into the future, and what i saw was huge.
For those who heard my presentation at the Spring Fling, this is just a recap, and for those who unfortunately could not be there, here it is in a condensed version. I am proof that anyone can make it big in this business if they really want to.
For most of my earlier years, I had low self-esteem, and a lot of self-doubt. What I learned to do right before joining my first network marketing company, was to work at developing self-esteem and a good self-image. I learned to like and believe in myself. This was done by going to seminars, reading books like "Think and Grow Rich," "The Power of Positive Thinking," "You'll See it When You Believe It," and "The Master Key," By Charles Haanel, and listening to tapes by Jim Rohn, Brian Tracey, Tony Robbins, and many more.
I did this over and over, because I needed more help than most people. It wasn't easy to change my core limiting beliefs, but I had to do it if I were to succeed. I had to change the way I talked to myself. instead of being self-critical, which was the way I had been all my life, I had to be self-supportive and speak to myself in a more positive way.
I had many hurdles to overcome, yet was able to do it because of my new found faith in the universal Law of Attraction, which basically says " our thoughts are the causes of the effects in our lives, and if we want to change our lives, we must think about the things that we want that will make us happy, and do it with feeling,, instead of doing what most people do and that is, think constantly about what they don't want while feeling rotten about it.". When opportunities came for me to grow, I took action instead of running away from them, which was my old habit. I set small daily goals that were reachable while keeping my eye on giant goals that were bigger than life itself. it must have worked.
I know without a doubt in my mind that anyone who can read or hear this message can do what Jackie, John and Lise, Shep and Jan, Stephanie Sterling, and I have done in Scent-Sations, and much much more. We are the earliest players in the game. There will be many more of you who will break records in Scent-Sations.
My dream is that we will have at least 50 directors by this time next year, and over 500 the year after, and then over 2000 the year after that. In a pyramid there is only one person that can be at the top. In Scent-sations there is room for an unlimited number of qualified people at the top.
Somebody once asked me,"don't you want to be number one in the company?" to which I answered, "being number one is not my goal, having the top ten distributors on my team is. I learned that in this business, it is teamwork that makes the team work. A rising tide raises all ships. You have to give it away to keep it. Together we can make this company the best company in network marketing history, and as a result, you can achieve goals beyond your wildest dreams. I will end this by saying what a leader in my first company used to say,"See you on the beaches of the world."
MY TEACHER, GEORGE CARLIN ON HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them."
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets,
keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments
that take our breath away.

Congratulations to Our 2004 "Top Gun Sponsor": Deb Warren |
I was so honored to be named Top Gun Sponsor for 2004. Most importantly, I'm honored and feel privileged to be a part of this company and surrounded by Top Gun qualities of inspiration, courage, and support from my team and the entire Scent-Sations family!
When I started with Scent Sations 17 months ago, I immersed myself into the learning process of Internet Marketing. As a busy stay at home mom with two small children, I've captured the power of Internet and its flexibility to build a team of exceptional people across the country and Canada.
Internet marketing is really just another tool to build your business, but if used effectively, it can be powerful. Building your business online still embraces the foundation of Networking Marketing which is developing relationships one person at a time. This, too, is the key to online success.
For the past year, I've taken daily action steps to build my presence online and grow those relationships. Through promoting my personal website. I can share more about me, my values and goals, and my commitment to coaching new partners. Establishing that trust engages people into taking a deeper look at our opportunity and perhaps seeing for the first time the possibilities for change in their own lives. Through supportive follow up and respect for the decision making process, relationships are forge. Dedicating to a person's values, dreams, and goals develops the solid partnerships. Through this process, I'm able to empower others to build a vision for their future. This is the true spirit of our industry. One thing I've learned is the enthusiasm for our incredible products and fun, stress free business plan is contagious! Spring Fling was my first convention and it was truly incredible! I'm still struggling to find the words to describe the atmosphere and impact it has made in my life. The feeling of a family atmosphere has been shared by those who have attended and I can't express the truth in that statement. We all came together by our love for the Mia Bella candle, but if you look below the surface, we are really connected in our desire for greatness and a better life for ourselves and our family. You could feel this bond and positive energy the moment you entered the convention hall. Everyone in the room was celebrated for their strength, passion, and commitment.
Each workshop was filled with learning tools to put into action, each speaker shared their wisdom for success, and each testimonial cut right to the heart with inspiration and happiness. Meeting so many of my personal team, as well as others, for the first time was magical. I met most of my partners online, and we've established great relationships through emails and phone calls. However, there is nothing to replace the human touch of a warm hug, the power of looking someone in the eyes to say, "I believe in you", and listening to their goals inspired by the training and empowerment captured at the convention. For me, those moments were priceless!
The highlight of the weekend was to share this event with my family. I was delighted to be able to bring my 5 yr. old daughter, Sophia, up "on stage" to accept the Top Gun Sponsor Award. It's as much her award as it is mine. She is so courageous in her belief and intention for our business. She is unencumbered in her sharing of our "why", as she said, we are doing this business "So Daddy can be a stay at home Dad!"
Children have the innocence to Dare to Dream. Along with my husband Brad and her little brother Oliver, Sophia's jubilance and strength has guided me in shaking off "nay sayers" and learning to be unstoppable in my belief for our "why", too. I danced, hopped, and skipped away from that convention, not because I had a plaque in my suitcase (well that was pretty cool, too), but because I had new goals and directions, new friendships, deeper relationships, and a stronger commitment (which I didn't think was possible) to this company, its leaders, and my business.
Bob and Charlie have a unique and refreshing philosophy for the network marketing industry. Their commitment to us as distributors and people is evident. I hope you'll all be able to meet them someday. They are remarkable human beings. Along with Lynn and Carmen, they have shared their vision and empowered each us with a pathway to take that "Dare": Dare to dream, believe, and achieve. It's our responsibility to take the challenge. Let's reach inside ourselves and find that 5 year old child again and make our lives extraordinary. Declare your Dreams and do not be denied! I'll see YOU at the top! And I mean it!

Life's Challenges Can Not Stop Tonya Bolam! |
My life has totally changed because someone else had a dream and invited me to dream with them. I felt my life had come to a screeching halt four years ago when I lost most of my sight. I had a great job and loved the freedom it allowed. What was I to do now? Inside I knew that if I didn't find something, I would die. I searched for my lifeline and didn't even realize I had found it. I love candles!!
I decided to join the Scent-Sations team to get my candles wholesale and maybe sell to friends and family. But, I couldn't keep up with the demand! My friends and family were going crazy for these candles. Well, I soon realized I didn't need my eyes to sell, just a great nose! We started doing shows and home parties - we were doing okay with that and I loved the extra money…and my house always smells great!
Still my confidence was a bit low! Spring Fling 2005 has given me so many tools to help build that confidence. The question is always “What is your WHY?” I know my why, but "HOW" always kept me back. My new question is “What CAN I do?”
Limitations are a frame of mind. I will not see limitations anymore. Each speaker gave me new ideas and thoughts to use even as a VI person. This conference gave me everything that I need to be successful. Now it is up to me!!!! Be myself and use the candle - how simple is that? There is no science to it, just a love for the “WHY”.
The Spring Fling was great for my husband too. It's cool to be a Candle Guy. This was my “Little Candle Business”, and he has always been supportive of my doings and wants to see me happy. But this past weekend changed his outlook. He realized that he does not have to work so hard anymore. He realized that this business is for everyone. He now shares my excitement and I love that common bond with him. THANK YOU!
Thank you so much Charlie, Bob, Lynn, and Carmen for sharing your dream with me.

Vickie Bolton Wins Round Trip Contest to Spring Fling! |
COMPANY NOTE: Scott Nelson, WA, offered a free Spring Fling contest to his organization and Vickie Bolton won
Vickie Bolton is a woman on a mission with a passion and a plan to sell Mia Bella candles.
This 27-year teacher with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education has a lot going on in her family health-wise, but that has not deterred her from trying to establish herself with Scent-Sations as a home-based business in her upcoming retirement.
Bolton is a breast cancer survivor who is married to a stroke survivor. She is also the mother of two special needs sons. One son, Cer, is autistic. The other son, Michael, needs a second kidney transplant. He received his first transplanted kidney from Bolton 9 years ago.
Bolton has gained energy from her family members as they have watched her seriousness and dedication to the business, as they have caught on to why working for a Candle-of-the-Month Program, that offers candles made from soy, vegetables and beeswax, can be both challenging and fun. They have watched Bolton set goals, experience set backs, fall and rise in sales, then get good at it all.
After enrolling 16 new Candle-of-The-Month members in three and a half months, Bolton received round trip airfare for two, with double-occupancy stay at Victoria Suites in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and $100 in CASH for the Scent-Sation's Spring Fling. No wonder Bolton's husband gave her an embroidered sweatshirt, which reads: "Soy Sista."
Bolton takes the "Full Circle" approach with her business by using the "Smell and Sell Technique," and offering her customers and potential business partners "The Gift" - which is an opportunity to get candles at wholesale prices, sell them at retail prices, and gain residual income. The Gift also includes participation in fund raisers. Not everyone accepts The Gift readily, but Bolton believes every prospective Candle-of-the-Month member or customer encounter with Mia Bella candles is a seed planted. She has found that when a prospect says "No", they may really mean "Not now", or may need more information. So, Bolton drips information about Scent-Sations and Mia Bella Candles to anyone within three feet of her. She invites them to the Tuesday or Thursday night Opportunity Calls, the Recorded Calls, and if more information is needed, she will get the prospect connected with her up-line for more information. She uses the tools available through Scent-Sations.
Bolton tries never to assume anyone would not want a Mia Bella candle or the opportunity to sell them.
Bolton has been a Candle-of-the-Month member since 2003. She first signed up to get candles at 50 percent off their regular price. She used the candles as gifts for relatives and friends. Then she and her friends and family got hooked on the candles, she said. She then decided to sell Mia Bella Soy Candles for one year and see how that went.
After Bolton received training through e-mails and telephone calls, she realized there was a bigger future in Mia Bella then she originally thought. She re-established her game plan. She now plans to retire from teaching in three years while she still loves the work, and work her Gourmet Candle business full-time from home. She wants to spend more time with her family
and be a positive influence on her sons. And she wants to be her own boss.
She has learned a great deal about running her business, which she refers to as Soysista.com, from her sponsor Sue DeVries. She has also had great coaching, mentoring and encouragement from Scott Nelson and Lise McFadden, who have been highly successful with Scent-Sations, Bolton said.
"I have learned that if you want to move up, you need to associate with people who are where you want to go," Bolton said.
One special thing Bolton loves about the company is that it affords her the ability to work and include her family. She offered her son Michael "The Gift" and he eventually became excited about the business opportunity. She put Cer, 13 in charge of labeling product and he was reluctant to do the work until he was paid for it. "He was excited to make his first bank deposit," Bolton said. "He now asks if I need something labeled. He's on his way to being his own boss too."

Words of Wisdom from John Handrahan |
Sometimes I feel like one of those TV reporters who listens to a presidential speech and then tells the viewer who saw the same speech what he said.
But this call today was powered up by John McFadden, and I felt like we had the coach and the veteran starting lineup all set to get out and pulverize anyone who dared to get on the field against us.
Bob Scocozzo is so right; the network builders will take care of themselves! But unless the networkers understand the primary objective of the company, they'll fail miserably and drive business away. This is not a YAHOO numbers game.
For instance; the game of golf is expensive. For most people playing it can yield many accolades and tremendous enjoyment, but will rarely yield a profit. As a matter of fact it can be a major expense. But, day after day, people expend the time and money to follow this avocation because of the enjoyment it brings.
Candles are no different. Just like the golfer will play the best course he can afford and associate himself with those people, the candle lover will buy the best and relate to those others who display the same taste. This is where MIA-BELLA is brilliant!
Instead of exclusive marketing and advertising and placing this candle in a particular niche in the commercial world, SCENT-SATIONS has placed it in the hands of the candle lover to make it available at a reasonable price to all of those who share the same appreciation.
When enough people are sharing the same enjoyment in that circle of friends, SCENT-SATIONS makes it financially worthwhile for an individual to purchase wholesale and keep the MIA BELLA available to that circle of friends. And the quality and reputation of this candle will neither be diminished or overshadowed.
We network marketers know that the commercial world cannot touch word-of-mouth marketing. We also know that no other candle producer has the research and development, or the formulation to reach the quality of the MIA BELLA. And every day the reputation of the MIA BELLA is advanced and reasserted. THAT'S OUR JOB! If we hold it out and let someone smell it, everything that MIA-BELLA is will be firmly rooted and without a word, it will be extended.
I have spent the last three weeks with my wife, Judy, on the "conversion" trail. Together we have experienced over 200 people inhale the fragrance of a MIA BELLA and react with an uncontrollable"WOW"! Again and again we have seen eyes widen when we said "NO BLACK SOOT" ..."CLEANS WITH SOAP AND WATER"...and "100% BIODEGRADABLE"! SO MANY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS POSSIBLE!
So as Bob Says; we just have to show it to everyone we meet. The experience will be locked in their mind and whether or not they are a candle lover, they will tell someone about the experience or relate to it the next time they buy a candle.
Until recently I never smelled a candle at a huge retail store. When I did, I was ecstatically unimpressed. I don't have to describe all the colors on a peacock - I just have to put it where people can see it. MIA-BELLA will do the work for us - just put it where they can smell it!

Bob & Charlie's Former Upline Joins Scent-Sations! |
|
My name is Gary Carr and I sell Candles and Soap. Two years ago my Friends and Principals of a company based in Wilkes-Barre, PA, called Scent-Sations, tried to persuade me to take a serious look at their “Candles and Soap” business opportunity via Network Marketing. I told them that I was not interested in MLM or Candles.
Recently, I talked to a friend. She was thinking about quitting the job she loved as a school teacher because she wanted to spend more time with her three children She said that she was going to make money selling candles and soap. She said she was inviting people to and hosting home parties and fund raisers. At each event, everyone had a good time and purchased many candles and soap. She was making several hundred dollars at each event and creating residual monthly income. I asked more questions and the company turned out to be owned by my friends Bobby Scocozzo and Charles Umphred. I love these two guys because in another Network Marketing company I was their upline. And, through their efforts we have enjoyed a monthly check for over 20 years.
Unfortunately, after creating a monthly solid 5 figure monthly income for themselves. They decided to leave. Why? Why, would you leave a monthly income that most people take a year of hard work to accomplish? Charlie and Bob explained! The little guy was being taken advantage of and the disparity of the marketing plan was not fair. All the money was going to the top. And, they were right! I know if they stayed with this company they probably would have made in excess of over 20 million dollars.
I admire Charles and Bobby. They would not budge on their Standards of Integrity. So, I called them up and they gave me the bottom line of how they were doing and where they were going. They once again, asked me to join them and this time I said yes. I love Candles and Soap and the very fair and honest marketing plan and sales approaches and training they provide.
I think they have thought of everything but they always listen to their employees, distributors and customers. The Mia Bella Candle and Bella Bars are always evolving and improving. I like that we are in a 10 billion dollar industry just here in the United States. And, conservatively if we take 10% of that........Well, a billion dollars is plenty of money for everyone. And, as we expand our borders (Canada is open and soon Australia) the Billion turns into Billions........Wow!
What an Opportunity! This is Smart! Candles are very therapeutic. Its amazing to see the peoples moods change as they stare at the candles and smell them. They get in a good mood and then they start to relax, and enjoy themselves.
This is amazing and very lucrative and rewarding. The pie keeps getting bigger and most importantly, everyone gets a fair piece. Dig In.

Great Story from Mary Leedy |
I have a wonderful family of 3 children ages 5, 3, 17 months and a husband who I'm convinced is my soul mate. They keep me on my toes but never does a day go by where they don't welcome all my hugs and kisses.
I'll never forget the day when my daughter gave me a hug and kiss and said I love you for the first time, or when my son first leaned his cheek in so I can kiss him, or when my 17 month old son first took my face in his hands and put his nose up against mine with a smile. This, this is what I've lived for, it brings tears to my eyes every time.
After my daughter was born, I went back to work but after awhile, daycare just wasn't for her so I decided to stay home. I had the worst "cabin fever" I think I've ever had in my life! So I figured I needed to find something that makes me feel like "Mary" again and not just "Mommy" all the time.
I used to do secretarial work for 14 years but got "burned out" because I have so much creativity and optimism and the jobs didn't have any room for that kind of personality. So I decided to be a stay-at-home Mom and find a home business so I can enjoy watching my children grow up.
A friend of mine knew I loved candles so she asked me to smell this new votive she got from someone she knew from her daughter's school. The scent was Orange Sherbet and once I smelled it, my eyes glazed over and I thought "Wow! What a great smelling candle!" I told my friend that I'll think about it and then sign up in 30 days after I get through an ordeal that needed to be dealt with. For 3 days I couldn't stop thinking about the opportunity because I've loved candles all my life and what better way to get involved with something I'm passionate about and make money with it? So on the 4th day I signed up and have never looked back.
My dear husband was a little skeptical about the idea but would never tell me not to do something I clearly loved. And when we burned 4 jars in one month and realized he didn't have to repaint the walls and ceilings every 4 months, he supported me 100%. My 5 year old daughter, Brianna, loves to check out the new scent I get every month and it warms my heart to see her enthusiastic about something I like too. I gave her 2 little jobs to do which is watch for the big brown truck (UPS) in case I can't hear the doorbell, and help me put the scent labels on the votives. She likes to count the votives when I do my inventory too. She's so helpful and I love her so much for it.
My family is the most important thing to me because they support me in all the adventures I take on.
My home is near the beach in New Jersey. I've spent my childhood summers with my parents, brothers, and sister. This is where I felt the most alive and became the person I wanted to be even if only for just the summer. Now, I'm here as an adult and wouldn't have it any other way. My children have come to appreciate the shore like I do.
My "vision" for the next 5 years is to become a Director and teach my team that optimism, positivism, and the right mindset will help them achieve their dreams. I feel that having the right attitude and mindset is most of what you need to get the things you want in life. I am grateful every day that I am a vital part of the Mia Bella Family and at the Spring Fling I physically and spiritually felt the connection with everyone there. It hit me right on the dance floor during the song "We Are Family" and THAT is priceless and will always be treasured. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for that connection.
A few last words I'd like to leave with you - Make wishes out loud because they do come true. And if you can get yourself to the beach, take in the scenery, there's more than just sand and water.

More Home Party Success Stories!
|
My name is Dagmar Miller and I live in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. I became a Scent-Sations distributor in December of 2004. I purchased a fast start kit right away as I felt if I was going to do this right, I would need the tools to do so. I also purchased another case of twelve different fragrances.
In December while I was waiting for all my supplies to arrive I talked to friends about these awesome candles. Over the holidays I made up twelve gift packages and put them in my brother's store and he sold eight out of the twelve! I was thrilled! In January and February, 10 of the distributors in this area got together and we pooled our money and went into two home shows in the area. Our intention was to let the word out about these awesome candles.
We had draws and armed with our business cards and brochures we talked to people about the benefits of these candles by becoming a distributor or just by using them in their homes. We explained about the unsurpassed quality of the candles, and the fact that they are second to none.
While handing out my business cards I contacted a lady named Phyllis... now at the time I didn't know she was interested in any way as I really don't even recall talking to her. In the middle of February I received a phone call from this awesome lady and I am going to call her My Dream Hostess. Phyllis is a distributor's dream come true, especially when it is your first party ever. I did not contact Phyllis as I had no information about this lady, but she liked what I had to offer her at the show and she called ME to ask questions and book a home party. So we planned a date that was good for her.
I then immediately got to preparing a booklet with price lists and information in it so I could hand one to each person invited to the party. Phyllis called me about three days after the initial contact as she was wanting to get some outside orders from girls at work that would be unable to attend her home party. So I put together two dozen votives in our boxes with names and gave her a copy of the booklet with all the info, went over a few things with her at her home, left her with 15 invoices and draw tickets for each person to fill out who purchased a candle.
Well to my surprise she called two or three days later and said she had sold well over $100.00 worth of product so far, just by leaving the candles in the staff lunch room. I immediately called my upline Sandra Weaver (Joseph Duhaime) to tell her the good news about the sales Then the next day I got another excited call from Phyllis, she was having a ball with these candles and selling them like crazy. She said "guess how much I sold now?" and I said I was afraid to guess. Well at that time it was over $250.00 worth with a booking from a friend without her even having a party yet. I was so excited and so was she. Again I made a phone call to Sandra to let her know what was happening and we both were in disbelief but at the same time very excited.
We started to call her MY Dream Hostess... yes Phyllis called again and said she needed more invoices as she had run out, so I dropped off the invoices and a thank you note to her for all her hard work that she had been doing. Little did I know that she had a goal of $500.00 outside orders, well you guessed it, this awesome lady did $517.00 worth of outside orders from 25 sales.....yes 25 outside sales!
Her party was only a week away so I knew she was going to have a great party and earn a lot of free candles for doing so well. Now in my mind, at the beginning I would have been more than happy with a $300.00 total party sales, well I have been overwhelmed with her success. She said she hadn't had so much fun in a long time. I said you need to become a distributor! I do think she is giving that some thought! Phyllis put on a great home party and when it was over her total sales so far are $726.00 and she said hold off another week as she still has to get in touch with those who did not show up at the home party. Can you believe this awesome lady? I asked her if she could duplicate herself a hundred times then I would only need to have two home parties each week and put a good profit in my pocket!
So far for having her home party Phyllis has earned (I made up a hostess rewards chart) one free large 16oz. jar candle, two votives for two bookings, and eleven more free votives coming to her for her sales so far. I don't know what she will end up with by the end of the week, but I wouldn't put it past her that there will be another two hundred dollars worth of sales. I do hope that everyone will get at least one Dream Hostess like my Phyllis! I can hardly wait to do the next two parties. I am praying that their names are Phyllis ha, ha.
One more thing, I talked to Phyllis this morning before typing this and she has been day dreaming about names of other fragrances that we don't have, can you believe that... so I said we could send in her suggestions and she also wants to go to the Fall Fling with me this year! Wishing you all the success you deserve!
Dagmar Miller, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada
COMPANY NOTE: Charlie received this great e-mail from Debbie Adrion-Molino Hey Charlie,
Read below, the party was great, it closed at 1000 bucks, we sold just about everything we had and I have to place an order tomorrow, oh I guess today, LOL! The hostess, made a statement at the party saying "I don't know how anyone could ever burn another candle after a Mia Bella, and Charlie these were all Yankee Fans, LOL!
One girl bought a case. When I entered her foyer, I noticed a Yankee burning there, but she had two Mia Bella's burning in clear view when I went up the stairs. But they were all thrilled with the clean burning candle aspect.
I had some week and it worked out well. Because I had the Mom of the Moment, a good party and I gave my first training call Saturday on the New Member Getting Started Call, and it was great because I was feeling on top of the world. I had a prospect call Friday morning and said she would be signing up on Tuesday and said her sister was going to sign up under her. Which they both did on Tuesday. Saturday night I had another prospect call that I have been working with and said she's been busy with a new job but wants to sign on in April. So it was a great time to give the call.
You might think I exaggerate with my little guy, but it is now 2AM and he just came running down the hall, good grief! Friday Claudette came here and we went to the home party together, Zach packed everything up for us. When we came in from the home party he was at the door to greet us to unpack:-)! Well duty calls, I just looked behind me and we have two emptied tissue boxes in baskets now. This kid is a true entrepreneur, and with his creativity, strong will and persistence he best be.:-) The child is nonstop and never seizes to amaze me. He must take after his mother, anyone else would have given up by now but I love a challenge!
Have a good week! That white chocolate coffee is awesome. We had three sell at the party, and we don't even have them yet, but we had a votive on hand!

New Scent-Team Member is Having Fun & Making Money! |
My name is Alison Boers and have been in the business ONE month. I have to say that I have not felt so good...so positive...about any direct sales/network marketing company in a long, long time.
I was involved in a few other companies and nothing compares to this business. The support and training are wonderful, the products are EXCELLENT, I am getting orders, repeat orders, and signing up new distributors in my first month. That's exciting to me!
My main focus is team building and I plan on building this business “BIG" in the next 2-3 years. I love sharing the business opportunity with others and looking forward to that long term, residual income down the road from my efforts put in today. I am also VERY excited to be on the ground floor of a flourishing company. I see a wonderful future with Scent-Sations/Mia Bella for myself and my family.
Thank you!

New Distributor Says Scent-Sations Allows Her to Dream Again |
Thank you again for such wonderful products and also the great compensation plan and retail earnings opportunity. I plan to take advantage of them. It is so awesome that you all created a company with the reps in mind also. We all have to start somewhere and I appreciate the fact that we can start out making money for our efforts.
I am a single mother of two, who was laid off in the middle of my divorce (along with 800 others at our location-17,000 people total in one day) after 14 years of being a Manager with MCI WorldCom – as I’m sure you know Bernie Ebbers ‘cooked our books’ and not only caused a RIF, but also the loss of all of our 401K and stock portfolios that we all so heavily invested in MCI WC. That was a couple of years ago and I am working a FT job now at a much lower salary, so I am thankful for this opportunity.
I feel as if I have taken a breath of fresh air – I have found a company that will allow me to continue to save money for savings and retirement. It will also possibly give me the option to work from home so I can spend more quality time with my two wonderful children.
Keep up the good work.

Mia Bella: Scents so Real You Want to Reach for a Spoon! |
My hubby came home last night and took my jar in the bedroom with him, to take a nap, and when my kids got home from school, they all kept asking and looking for the cookies or cake I was making - they kept checking the oven, and did not believe me that I was really NOT cooking any snacks!

“I just had a church sausage dinner that is huge every year. I am also fighting a kidney stone but I went and set up my table in a room directly in back of the hall. I burned my 16 oz Crème Brulee and everyone came back into the room after they ate wanting to know what smelled so good. It even overpowered the dinner. YEA! I sold almost every candle I had even the one that was burning! So I lit up the last Hot Apple Pie and ended up selling that one as well.”

Amazing, But True Goal Setting Stories |
| Thank you so much for the amazing event you had for us. You all put so much work and effort into making it so special and educational for us all! Thanks for letting me hang out there yesterday and get a few more pictures.
I shared this story with a few people at the Spring Fling and they said I should share it with you! I know you are a goal setter.
When I heard there was going to be a Spring Fling, my first response was that it was too expensive and I couldn't leave my family. Well, it was right at the time that Jackie was training about goal setting and powerful intentions. So, I set the goal that I was going to go to the Spring Fling but I knew I couldn't afford $600 for a plane ticket. So, that was another stipulation - free airfare. I WAS going to go but I WASN'T going to pay for airfare. I told my husband and a couple other people. They were a little skeptical but curious to see what would happen.
A few weeks later, I was talking to my sister-in-law and she mentioned how her husband had thousands of frequent flyer miles and had even been given some free tickets because of flight changes, etc. My ears perked up. When you set a goal and intention, you listen differently. I asked her if the free tickets were transferable and if I could possibly use one in exchange for babysitting or something. She said she would talk to her husband. She called me back a couple weeks later and was so excited to give me the news - they were giving me a free ticket with no strings attached!
The Spring Fling was amazing and in some ways, life changing. Set the intention to go next time and just see what amazing things happen!

Mom's Working from Home & With Family Members |
When I started working from home over 11 years ago, I wanted something that I could truly run from home, with a very flexible schedule. Something that would complement my family life and not detract from it. Even through Network Marketing, that was difficult to find.
With my previous companies, "mommy's business" was a real intangible thing for my children. Then, two years ago, along came Scent-sations, with the incredible Mia Bella Candle. The funny thing is, I really doubted my own ability to make such a product oriented business a success.
My children have embraced this business since day one. It's still such an exciting time when new candles arrive and everyone wants to smell each one, and sort through the boxes. They tell their friends and teachers about my business, and like giving away votive samples.
It was such fun to have my 9 year old daughter, Lexi, accompany me to Spring Fling. It was an important thing for her to put faces with names and really be able to grasp the concept of this business. I have a strong desire to pass on that entrepreneurial spirit to my children and have them see that there are possibilities beyond that of "employee."
We offer the candle for a new generation and also a business for a new generation. This is truly something even a kid can do. From unpacking candles, to labeling jars, to working together at booths and shows, it brings back that old concept of the "family business" that involves everyone. And, they love being a part of it!
Thank you, Bobby and Charlie for giving our children such a warm welcome and place at Spring Fling. Our children are our future and certainly here at Scent-sations.

Hi! My name is Tirzah Duncan. I'm 11 and LOVE to have fun!
Monday I asked a police officer, "Would you like to stick you nose in my business?" and held up a Bella Bun for him. He laughed. And he bought it.
I take my basket of candles with me everywhere and ask everyone that same question. Most people laugh. And lots of them buy.
This business is simple enough for kids. And perfect for kids like me, who want to make a lot more than "little kid money". I LOVE to give. I'm really glad I found this simple and fun way to make real money. So I can give a lot more than "little kid" donations!
It's cool to be my mom's business partner. I have my own business cards and my own bank account and I am learning a lot about making and managing money. It was very cool to go to the Spring Fling with my mom last month. I had SO much fun hanging around with Lexi and with Mia Bella, and being on stage with them. I had fun goofing around at the dinner dance with them and Zach, and visiting Carmen's lab to learn more about how he makes our candles.
I think it's gonna be a lot of fun growing up with this company!
Tirzah Duncan, CA
I certainly feel blessed to have found Scent Sations. This company embraces family values and involvement which is so empowering for a stay at home mom and families who are striving to spend more time together.
There are so many ways in which you can involve your children with this business no matter their age. My children, 22 months and 5 years of age, are my partners in every aspect of the business.
They are my Shipping and Receiving team; helping me sort, label, and package candles.
Their jubilant personalities are just the right mix for my Public Relations team; becoming best friends with the man at the post office and spreading smiles to the faces of strangers as they share our candle business.
Their attention to detail makes them the perfect Quality Control team; smelling every candle and giving their satisfied "squeal of approval".
Most importantly, their unwavering energy, support and inspiration have entitled them to be the perfect Human Resources team. They are strong in our vision of bringing Daddy home to be a stay at home Dad.
Speaking of my husband, he is my Administrative team. He delivers the best bottled water to my desk, gives the best rubs while I'm typing at the computer, and has the strongest arms for lifting boxes of candles. I'm sure those traits were in our wedding vows somewhere.
The business is a wonderful educational tool as well. Did you know that a box of a dozen assorted votives is the favorite toy of my 22 month old son? He has learned to count to 12, knows his color words, and could spend hours taking out, lining up, and then putting back votives in the circles of the votive boxes. His vocabulary is impressive too. Who ever heard of a baby saying Crème Brulee, Patchouli Spice, or Ginger Bergamot? Gosh, I even had a hard time with that one!
My 5 year old knows more about geography than I do! She helps thumb tack cities of our new team partners on our large United States map. She has learned how to alphabetize our jar candles, sort by scent categories, graph favorite scent choices of our extended family, read the labels, and write Thank You notes to special customers.
Together, we are learning life skills and the value of team work, goal setting, and commitment as we build our family "enterprise". Our biggest achievement was accepting the Top Gun Sponsor award at the Spring Fling. Our plague sits in our playroom near my desk, sticky with tiny finger prints, and treasured for our accomplishment together.
Oh, by the way, you are all invited to a "Cookies and Candles" tea party in our playroom next week!

New Macintosh Car Air Freshener Working Wonders! |
On Wednesday afternoons for the past several weeks I've driven a 91-y-o cancer patient and his wife to a cancer treatment center for radiation therapy. Three Wednesdays ago, the wife seemed terribly down as we waited, so I brought in my sample pack and had her smell some of the scents to get her mind off things.
She started telling stories of lilac bushes in England that she had loved as a child, and how she got intoxicated the first time on mulled cider she didn't know was spiked, and how her mother -- a true Victorian lady -- had always smelled of french lavender. As she told the stories, the nurses and doctors gathered round and asked to smell the scents. Several of them bought candles I had in the car and others placed orders; all wanted brochures and made me promise to check back every two weeks to see if anyone wanted to order more.
But that's not even the really heartwarming part. Yesterday I visited the couple in their home since the old gent is dying. My friend told me she brings him into the living room each night where they light their Apple Cinnamon jar candle in the semidarkness, pray together and sit watching the double flames. She said she cannot believe the consolation a simple thing like flickering, sweet-smelling candlelight has brought to them.
But that's not the truly heartwarming part either. I gave Dick one of the new car air fresheners to hang in his room; there's an oxygen tank in there, so no candles are allowed. Dick hadn't eaten in two days, but after having the smell of Macintosh Apples around him for about an hour, he asked his wife if she would bring him a little applesauce. That's the first four ounces of food he'd taken; she called me this morning to say he'd asked for breakfast earlier, applesauce and toast this time.
I think I'll drop by several hospice/nursing homes close by this coming week, I live in Florida so there are a lot, to see if they might want to use these in a similar way.
Car air fresheners to stimulate appetite in the chronically ill, who would have thought?

Hometown Heroes Honored |
Jason and Travis are brothers and felt a special luck because they are in the same national guard unit. When they were activated their thoughts were "we are so lucky because we will have each other!”
The two brothers were serving in Baghdad, Iraq when Jason was killed while he was assisting fellow servicemen in an overturned vehicle.
Jason left behind a wife of 18 mo. Theresa. Married Dec. 20th 3003.His parents Gary and Pat of Cottonwood, MN. His 3 brothers Eric & fiancé Lisa. Craig and Travis.
Jason graduated from Lakeview High School in Cottonwood and went on to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Education and a Masters of Science in Computer Education Technology at Dakota State University in Madison SD. At the time of his deployment , Jason was employed at North Star Insurance Company of Cottonwood.
Jason shared his passion of life and his country. He will be remembered for his love , laughter and a sense of adventure in bringing joy to all those around him.
NOTE FROM SCENT-SATIONS DISTRIBUTOR DAWN ROHLIK:
“Following is an exerpt from a really nice write up done about Jason in our local newspaper:”
Jason's roommate and good friend 1st Lt. Michael Hammerschmidt, spoke of the many qualities that made Timmerman who he was. Hammerschmidt said ( Timmerman) lived the Army Values and the Ten Commandments. "He lived by the code that few people live by. He always did the right thing. He didn't have to try to be a good person; he just was. Hammerschmidt also joked That (Timmerman) loved country music, computers and sports. "
Some days (my roommates) and I would wake to the sound of Kenny Rogers "The Gambler" playing on Timmermann"s computer. He would often educate me on the finer points of basketball by whooping me in a pick-up game...that was just Jason. He loved that type of thing."
42nd MP Brigade Commander, Col. Richard Swengros, shared "all commanders look at their Soldiers as more than just a Soldier . The reality is we see them as our own children."
"My Families and yours are safe from evil due in part the sacrifices these warriors made,"said Gailes. "We as a nation are eternally grateful for what they have done and for what the memory of them will do for us for the rest of their lives. Let there be no doubt that they are heroes."
From Dawn : “After reading this the statement stating that Jason did not have to try to be a good person; he just was, just stood out to me because I know his brother Travis and by what I have seen in Travis that does not surprise me at all. The parents of these boys should be so proud to have raised such fine up standing young adults. They truly gave to them the morals and the values that make them the up standing citizens they have become! “
My husband Sgt. Larry Vest Jr. is currently serving in the united states marine corp. We have two beatiful little girls together and Larry is their world as well as mine. We go through each day wondering if he will be sent to Iraq, so far he has not and I am thankful.
He is currently stationed at Quantico, Virginia and is a pistol coach. He teaches others how to safely and accurately shoot their weapons. I am very honored to be married to this wonderful man and I hope to see him on your site.
Sincerly,
