“I got involved with Scent-Sations when my buddy (Scent-Sations CEO) Bob Scocozzo started “bugging” me to sell candles for his brand new start up company. My reply “Me…a guy, my size (6’3”, 325 lbs) selling candles?” Bobby bugged me for 4 weeks and I “relented” and told him I'd do it for ONE MONTH ONLY! After 1 month, I was overwhelmed to find out about how many people all around me were nuts about scented candles, and absolutely loved Mia Bella’s better than anything else they ever burned. I literally couldn’t keep the stuff in stock just from orders from my workplace. Luckily for me I live only a few minutes from the warehouse and could stop by on the way to work to pick up inventory that had been pre sold! I sold a co-worker 4 candles. She gave 2 to her sister for gifts. The sister called me and asked me if she could do a fundraiser with the candles. My answer was “I don’t know, let me call my friend, Bob!” Bobby said “Of course we can!” Six months later they called in their fundraiser order. That little parochial school sold over 700 candles! I said, ”this cant be this easy!” I decided to focus a lot of attention on fundraising. I started calling and knocking on the doors of anyone I could think who did fundraising: sports groups (I coach baseball), schools, day care centers, etc. I also found out that about two weeks prior to school openings there are tons of small stories about different organizations having meetings for fund raising for their group. I either call them (if there is a contact number in the article) or simply drop by to their meeting armed with Mia Bella's information and products. If I go to the meeting I carry a large candle, enough brochures for everyone at the meeting, a few votives for handouts, and a sample order form and master sheet. I then explain our procedure for doing fundraisers. I always ask the organization what their financial goals are: ”HOW much money are you looking to make?” Whatever they answer I tell them a basic formula to think about: ”Based on a $5 profit, lets say you have 25 people, if they sell 10 candles each, your profit is $1250. With this kind of math in front of them, usually their jaws are dropped for a few minutes. Then they smile! (P.S. they can choose to sell the candle for whatever they want. Many sell for MORE THAN A $5 PROFIT!) They get as many order forms as they wish (order forms can be found in the back office under all fundraising materials). I explain that their organization’s name will be on top along with the top 20 scents of the season for them to sell (they can customize this if they wish by reviewing the 4 fold brochure with the 90 scents on it). We then find out the price that they need to sell at. Typically it goes from $17.00 to $25 per candle. I put the name and telephone number of the person in charge of the group so that they can be reached by anyone doing the fundraiser. I tell them they have 2 weeks to sell after accepting the fundraiser. What comes back to me is the master sheet (found in back office) along with a check which fully pays the amount we agreed on. In my case I charge the fundraiser $11, as being in the local market I can pick up and avoid all shipping costs. If I were long distance from the company I would add the shipping cost to the $11 or whatever my selling price is. I also let them know that my sticker will be on the bottom of every candle in case any customer has questions about the candle. Of course, Ive gotten lots of fundraisers, enrollees and customers from this label. Many people who buy from that fundraising group love the candle so much they contact me to do a fundraiser for their group. Here is the amazing result of Bobby bugging a big guy to do candles. I've averaged ONE fundraiser every 10 days for two years now. Imagine having a side business that is practically on auto pilot and you will realize how powerful this can be. All it takes is a little “energy” to get out there in the early stages and being consistent in talking to those organizations that can make this kind of business happen. It doesn’t hurt that I can offer them the most powerful candle in history and one of the most money making products in fundraising history! Dave Lewis |

| Senior Director, Jackie Ulmer's Story Shows The POWER of Leverage! | ||
|
People always ask, "how did you do that?' And the answer really starts with a story of how I was not interested in doing it before. About 6 years ago, I was reading a publication called Six Figure Income and it profiled 15 top income earners in Network Marketing. As an avid reader and student of what others are doing to be successful, I carefully read each profile and made notes. There were many recurring themes, but the one that stood out for me most was the fact that each of these top income earners was putting in anywhere from 65-80 hours a week in their business. I have to tell you that did not thrill me at all. As a mother of young children, I could not possibly see myself putting in that type of time commitment and still maintaining my top priority, which is my family. I didn't want to reach the top only to look behind and have lost my children somewhere along the way. After all, my children are my number one why in this business. I was not interested in building my business in this way. Luckily, about that time, I discovered the Internet. Yes, I am a late bloomer to the online world and knew nothing about it 6 years ago. What I did see immediately, though, was that this tool was a way to leverage my time, and ultimately my income. Thus began my journey into learning and mastering the Internet. It has been fascinating for me to learn a whole new "language" and feed my mind in a whole new way. For the first 6 months, I probably spent 12 hours a day (most of it at night while the kids were sleeping or stolen moments here and there) hunched over my computer, reading and reading. One thing I learned is that I had to have a way to duplicate this effort with my team, so I began to consolidate the knowledge I had learned from spending thousands of dollars on marketing manuals and thousands of hours on trial and error into a simplified system. So, I wrote an e-book that is available to anyone and it details exactly what I have done over the past 6 years to use the Internet as my primary method of business building. That book is located at - http://www.streetsmartcoach.com It really is my story and my system for marketing myself and my business online. It's not rocket science, but rather focus. Through my efforts online, I have met and partnered with some wonderful people. People who share my goal of not working 65-80 hours on their business, but prefer to leverage their efforts in other ways. And, the Internet is how I "met" Charlie Umphred and ultimately came into contact with the superb opportunity right here at Scent-Sations. People often talk about "systems" and developing ways to work the business. The Internet provides those "systems" and also provides great resources for training and coaching a growing team. But, be careful of the term "systems", too. Nothing replaces "high touch" one on one marketing and the good, ole telephone to connect with people. Yes, they find me online, but I quickly take it to the phone to "seal the deal." This summer, I put about 20 hours a week into my business and still August was my single best month and I never missed on my personal goal of partnering with at least 8 new people a month. It's not that I have any big secret. My secrets are all shared in my e-book. It's more that I have a big commitment to success in this business through the Internet and I have an intention each and every day to see that commitment through to the end. And, I am focused on what I need to be doing each minute of my business time. I have blinders on, and they aren't coming off. These blinders keep me focused forward on the goal at all times. I recommend you put some blinders on as well, and set a commitment and intention to get exactly what you want. Don't look to the side and don't look back. Success in this business means different things to different people. To me, it means creating the family environment I want first, and using the business as a tool to achieve that. Decide what success means to you and the "price you are willing to pay" to get that. Remember, you set the price and the parameters. You really do. In the early days, everyone told me I could not build a business online. It couldn't be done; it's a belly to belly business. I refused to listen to the naysayers. Even today, there are top income earners who say that it is impossible to build a business online. I am laughing all the way to the bank! If this stay at home mom can do it, you can do it, too! You really can, and I believe in you! EXPECT Success! |

Just seconds before I was sitting at our breakfast counter feeling fantastic and enjoying another one of my wife Lise' awesome breakfasts. Yes! 10 am is the best time to eat breakfast for me as it reminds me of one of the luxuries that the Scent-Sations business has afforded us. The luxury to enjoy a leisurely breakfast when it wasn't that long ago that both of us would have been in the office for a couple of hours by then. And then it happened. 10:07am All of a sudden a wave rushed through my body and immediately I knew that something was wrong. My wife saw it in my expression as well. I told her, "I don't know what that was but all of a sudden I don't feel right." She asked, "Do you feel sick or nauseous?"..."No, but I know I don't feel right! Something just went wrong and I felt it through my whole body" I just passed it off as one of those "moments" we all go through in which a small but insignificant chemical imbalance occurs. Nothing to worry about right? WRONG. I worked at finishing my breakfast and excused myself to go back upstairs to lie down. Within about a half hour I was boiling and freezing at the same time. Shaking our king size bed as though I was auditioning for a part in some horror movie. Lise came upstairs to check on me and with her sitting on the bed beside me I shook violently for about a half hour...shaking the bed and her at the same time. To make a very long story short...a couple of ambulance rides later - (one in a rush to our regional hospital for them to know that they may be looking at something more serious than they can handle and another fast one to a University Hospital about an hour away from us) I am standing in front of a doctor who is telling me "we have a two hour window here". She told me if the swelling in my left leg (ankle now as big or bigger than my knees and skin virtually transparent and looking very "burnt") didn't stop and my temperature didn't drop then they would start cutting....beginning just above my knee. I asked if there were any alternatives to which she replied "No"...as this particular infection almost always results in loss of limb(s) or death. This made it much easier to get used to the idea of losing a leg...but I wasn't prepared to leave my wife or children so the fight was on! Suffice it to say that thanks to my wonderful wife Lise-Anne, I am still here and about 90% mended after 9 weeks. Once my hospital stay was behind me I was given "house arrest" rules and Lise then took over my recuperative care for the remainder of the summer. This is the summer that never was...for both of us and I will forever be grateful to Lise for her courage when I know that deep down inside she was as frightened as I was. I have told you all of that to tell you this. The Scent-Sations business had always been a real blessing in our lives, but I never knew quite how much until this summer. The love and support from everyone at head office and all the distributors throughout our "extended" Mia Bella Family was incredible and encouraging. Quite often when the pain was really getting to me a call here or a card there really made my day and renewed my determination to fight this infection. Also, not only did we continue to receive our residual checks, but they actually got bigger. Our group grew...and our group volume did the same...WITHOUT either of us being involved in either sales or recruiting. The automated computer system we used kept running and exposing the business opportunity to prospects for us. Our team continued to build THEIR businesses...they weren't doing it for us, they were doing it for themselves, but thanks to the brilliant compensation plan that Bobby and Charlie have put together for each one of us...this meant OUR business grew too! I was able to conduct our weekly online conference calls, thanks to the wonderful technology of the Internet, from my hospital bed and then, once home, from the comfort of my own bed while I concentrated on following Nurse Lise' orders. We were able to work a little here and a little there on our laptop computer to continue to produce the CDs for reps who needed them and yet, even though we were not "working" our business, our income was still in growth mode. Think about it. Imagine if you were off NINE weeks from your current job...It's possible that you would have had to wait for insurance benefits to kick in (assuming you even HAD benefits like this) to get a percentage of your regular wages...following further behind in your bills with each passing week. It is also possible that if you worked for some companies, they would have had to let you go...or at least put you on a leave of absence with no guarantee that your position would be there when you return. Even worse, you may be one of the millions of people who have jobs with NO BENEFITS and NO JOB PROTECTION. A server perhaps who can't make money unless they are waiting tables in a restaurant....only to find the restaurant had to hire another server to take your place, so, sorry....no job to return to. You may even be someone "lucky" enough to own a traditional business. However, if you are not there, you can't earn money either...and your staff will not work as hard when you are not there. Doctors, for example, only make money when they are seeing patients. House Painters only make money when they are painting houses. The Scent-Sations business, when you build it right with a team of people who want more out of life for themselves and their families, can sustain you during a trying time like this. As we have proven...it can even ENHANCE your lifestyle even while you are "laid up, sick in bed". And, in the worse case scenario....I know that if those two hours had passed unsuccessfully for me, that my wife and family would continue to receive residual checks month after month, year after year, even with me gone....and THAT is true financial security. If you should pass away, is YOUR company going to pay YOUR family for the rest of THEIR lives? Of course not. But Scent-Sations WILL. So remember this above all. It CAN happen to you! One moment in time could change your life forever....or take it away in a heartbeat. So prepare yourself and your family, in all ways....spiritually and financially. Build your business NOW. Build it BIG...NOW. For NOW is the only time you have and you will never have more time than that. My love to all who prayed for us, cared for us and thought of us....but most of all...my love to my best friend and wife, for whom without I surely would not be here to wish you all the best in your business. So go do something for your business and your family. NOW! Thanks, |

| Susan Schilling & Family Finding Fun & Success With Scent-Sations, Inc. | ||
This is Susan Schilling from Minnesota, along with my family Thomas J, Jesse, Lindsey, Leah, Jonathon and Zach, my reason WHY I decided to join Scent-Sations in April of 2004. Thomas J and I have always been entrepreneurs, owning our own carpet cleaning business and farming. In 1999 we decided to become foster parents and help as many troubled teens as we could find their place in this world. I am also honored to be the wife of a Military man. We are saddened with Tom’s recent orders to be deployed to Iraq for an 18 month tour, and will be praying for his safe return. I know besides myself, many of us will miss his dancing and humor at the Fall Fling. But I know that we are in support of Thomas J and many others defending our country for the freedom that we have. Because of this freedom we have the ability to choose! I chose to be my own boss and reap the rewards of owning my own Network Marketing, Direct Sales business over working 40-50 hours a week for someone else. With Scent-Sations I make money any time I want by selling our fabulous Mia Bella Candles with the “smell and sell” technique. I have also set myself up for success with my website and auto responder to capture the interest of those looking for a little extra or those looking to make it big in the Network Marketing arena. I have enjoyed all the aspects of building a business with Scent-Sations, form flea markets, home parties, expos, shows, fundraising and sponsoring others. Like others, I have run into obstacles along the way that have slowed me down at times, but because of the great training, support of our company founders and leaders, my team keeps growing using their many talents. I’m proud to be a part of one of the fastest growing teams in Scent-Sations and appreciate each and every team member for their talents and leadership in helping our company be the best it can be. As I watch each step that Scent-Sations has taken to empower us as business owners, it amazes me as people join and get excited about the changes they can make for their future, utilizing all the training and support we have. Going to the Fall Fling in 2004 was the best move that I made for my business. I came back with a bigger commitment to build a huge organization of people making money. And a vision of where I will be in the next five years. That's what it's all about, helping those that may not want to recruit make a lot extra or those that want to create wealth, make it BIG! I spent a lot of time visiting with Charlie, Bobby, Carmen and Lynn about where they are taking our company. The commitment that they have in setting up a program that all will benefit from sold me at that point. Before joining Scent-Sations, I had experienced Network Marketing for 9 years with a few other companies, now realizing that I was being educated for the big one, Scent-Sations, a network marketers dream business and not only that, a candle lovers dream business! I want to thank all of the great people at the company for your support, knowledge and vision in creating an opportunity for the average person to be as successful as they want to be! The Fall Fling will be coming up and you won't want to miss it, there will be more new products and that is where you will bond with the company founders and make new friends with fellow distributors. That education is priceless! Make your own destiny, don't wait for it to come to you, life is not a rehearsal! |

| Susan's Husband Is A Real Hometown Hero! | ||
In September of 2003 we were deployed to Europe to tighten the security on our U.S Bases there. I was stationed in England at Lakenheath Air Force Base. I stayed about 8 months in England and was then reassigned to my National Guard Unit back in Luverne, MN.
In the meantime my wife, Susan, brought us into the family of Scent-Sations. I have enjoyed every minute of getting to know the company founders and the many friends I met at the Spring Fling of 2005. I have spent the past year as part of an artillery unit training new recruits the basics of the Army National Guard. As luck would have it I am now on the list to go back to active status to be stationed in Iraq, being gone from my family for 18 months. At this time, I am unsure of what I will be doing in Iraq, other than replacing some of the finest U.S men and women that our country has. My plans are to be at the Fall Fling in 2007 and enjoy my friends John & Lise MacFadden and get John’s permission to dance with his wife Lise (Inside story). In the mean time… |

| Summer-Time & Fairs Go Together With Mia Bella Sales! | ||
First, some color was brought into our booth, by separating our groupings with inexpensive organza cloth. Next, we set up a display specifically for the Fast Start Pack. Since we do a lot of prospecting at shows, this was a visual impact! We are thinking of creating an sign to draw attention to making money. {working on it, :)}. We had a basket of sample "beans" to hand out with business cards and Brochures; signage for fundraisers (packets behind the tables); and displays for special orders for gift packages, floral arrangements, and Scented Bears. A Police Officer from the police department (of the fair), purchased a rose bouquet for his 16th Anniversary and carried it down the Midway for his wife at the dispatch counter. (They were married on the Merry-Go-Round at the fair, where they met!). The Junior Fair Building had a auction to raise money for their building/group at the fair, and we donated a Pirate Treasure Box. This was auctioned off at the main gate. (In it was a jar, a Scented Bear, a votive, and sachets.) I used a shoebox for the chest with a scarf that I bought, wholesale, from a vendor. The Mardi Gras beads were leftovers from restaurants, etc. I got some other vendors to donate a 'treasure box' also.

| Scent-Sational Passion Syndrome | ||
By Susan DeVries Symptoms: The most prominent symptom is extreme excitement each time a representative gets products in from Scent-Sations, Inc. Exposure may trigger one to experience visible happiness, making it likely for them to open their mouth and share their "product sensation" with everyone they see or know. In serious cases it can cause insomnia. Related Symptom Information: Due to the extreme excitement level present while presenting the product by word-of-mouth, it is highly contagious. It is important to note that contagiousness is not limited strictly to face-to-face contact. Computers have been known to catch the Scent-Sational Passion Syndrome virus as well. E-mails may become highly activated and must be checked often. Peak Outbreak: This will occur when one catches the Scent-Sational Passion Syndrome from the Type l carrier, also known as Sponsor. This will result in the newly exposed person experiencing similar Scent-Sational Passion Syndrome symptoms that Type l exhibited, causing him or her to sign up under Type l as a representative. This has now evolved into the Type ll strain, the second level of the syndrome. The cycle then continues in the same manner, thus introducing other levels of the syndrome (namely Type lll, lV, V, Vl, etc.) It is highly probable that there will become infinite levels of various strains, making for a colossal outbreak in the future. It is now in the very early stages of the first level of exposure. This has been referenced to as the "Ground Floor Level". Onset of Symptoms: Symptoms will surface at various times throughout a given month, and at least once a month. And for many, symptoms can recur often within the same month. Regions Hardest Hit by the Scent-Sational Passion Syndrome: These statistics are as of August 2005. Studies show that currently the heaviest affected area is the United States. Canada has documented and reported more and more cases over the past 6 months. Furthermore, Australia has recently shown the onset of early signs of the Scent-Sational Passion Syndrome. With current state-of-the-art technology and high-tech travel of the 21st century, it is likely to be transmitted to other countries in the future. Treatment and Cure Prognosis: Currently there is no known treatment or cure for Scent-Sational Passion Syndrome. It is recommended to form support meetings and training sessions, outlining how you, and your loved ones, can most effectively work with this syndrome. If you have caught the first Type l strain, you could be a very valuable coach and leader on helping others to deal with this day-to-day passion. For More Information Contact Your Upline! |

| New Distributors Experience The Joy of Marketing Mia Bella Candles | ||
Since April of 2005, I was not able to go back to work because of the tough pregnancy I was having. I spent several days searching for a home-based business that was legitimate. I talked to many people about different possible businesses, but I could not find anything that I felt would be worth spending my time and money on. I didn't want to sell air filters or vacuum cleaners, because I didn't think that was worth my time or anyone else's time of trying to convince people that they needed these highly expensive products. I was looking for something that I would enjoy selling, for a product that would sell itself, as well as something that would allow me the time that I wanted with my baby. After searching for that perfect opportunity for close to a week, I became discouraged and gave up on the whole idea. The next week I received a CD about Mia Bella's candles in the mail, so I listened to it and was VERY impressed with what I heard. I could see the excellent potential in this company. I contacted Susan the next day and signed up. I could see myself going to the top in just a couple of years. My husband has begun selling the candles at his work and everyone LOVES the candles. I am now looking forward to my first craft show in September, followed by my second craft show/flea market in October. I also am working on getting some fundraisers underway. I have now gotten my sister and brother-in-law into the business. The possibilities with this company seem absolutely endless, and I am so excited about what is to come. I have so many dreams while doing this, many of which would not be possible for me without Scent-Sations. I am thrilled to be working for myself, when I want to, and not having anyone telling me what to do. My ultimate goal is for my husband and I to retire before he is 30, for us to work this full-time together, and to live the life that everyone dreams of having.
Thank you Scent-Sations for giving me this opportunity to tell my story, and thank you for everything you do to make things happen! Kelly Mathis
I learned about Scent-Sations in June of 2005 and signed up to be a Candle of the Month member on June 23rd. I was introduced to the company by Susan DeVries. Susan learned about me through the Affiliate Lead Program. I have a total of five team members, four on my 1st Level and one on my 2nd. After bringing in my 1st team member I received my first commission check and I was so excited, I just sat there and stared at it. I then realized the great potential for making money, either from residual income, retailing or fundraising. My techniques for gaining more customers and team members include distribution of flyers, word of mouth and emails. All of which has produced good leads. Susan DeVries is a phenomenal sponsor. She has guided me and been there for me since the very first day. Susan has encouraged me and has given me a positive leap towards making my Scent-Sations business a success. I am very excited to be a part of the Scent-Sations Family and I look forward to the future. Kimberly Myers |

| Power Failure Powers Up Some Sales! | ||

My name is Terri Hensley from Roanoke, VA. I've been selling Mia Bella candles for about a year now. I truly love them. I just thought I would share a cute little story with you about how I got some of my new neighbors hooked on my candles. I walked next door and told the crowd of my new neighbors that I had just the thing that they all needed. I could provide them with light and wonderful smell at the same time. Everyone of the women bought a candle and two of the husbands fell in love with my candles. I had to go back inside three different times to get more candles. Now, I have several new clients and hopefully some potential candle of the month signups. It was a great opportunity for me to meet my new neighbors and sell them my wonderful candles. I'm sure once the word gets out the rest of the neighborhood will be calling me too. Thanks for letting me share my story and I truly love the candles! Terri Hensley |

| Wonderful News, Fund Raising Update! | ||
In the Scent-Sations Inc. September 2004 Newsletter (you can read this by clicking here) we did a story about a fundraiser to help defray certain expenses for one of our top gun distributor’s (Deb Warren, Michigan) sister in law. In that story Deb explained that her sister in law, Tanya pulled through her chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant and at that time “hope” was the key word. On Friday, Sept 2, 2005 (1 year later) I had the pleasure of speaking with Tanya on the phone. Tanya told me about the uncertainty and fear that comes with such a health burden along with time spent away from family and the various “everyday” things she is still looking forward to doing, but at this point in time she is in REMISSION and hoping to be back teaching in the near future. Tanya also told me that she got very excited about the Scent-Sations Inc. Business Opportunity when Deb first told her of it more than one year ago and she is now enrolled and working her way toward total financial freedom. We are so glad that we could have played even a small part in this story and we wish Tanya and her amazing family long life, excellent health and great success in our “family” business! |

| Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper "Makes Scents" to Everyone! | ||
Just wanted to share a funny little story i just received from a prospect who i sent a cd packet to. Her name is Victoria Hawthorne and she plans to join us next month.
"I just went into town today to get my mail from the post office and I literally smelled my goodies in the box when I opened it! Amazing aromas! They are delicious! Especially the sweet orange and chili pepper...Heavenly! My goodness...when I was walking out of the post office a lady walked by while I was happily sniffing away, by then I had She wanted to know what kind of perfume I had on, LOL, I told her it was candle samples Just another reason why I love this business and thank you for the opportunity to offer such wonderful products. Take care and SEE YOU AT THE TOP!! Jennifer Sanchez “Hey Charlie….I’d Like To Get Involved In That Soap Deal!” David was actually the first person to introduce me to network marketing thru his involvement in a nutritional program in the early 1980s. When I got involved in networking in the late 80s the timing wasn’t right for David. When Bobby, myself and Bob Schmitz met and built a huge network in our second networking company we were featured in the company’s recruiting video. David was invited to look at a networking business opportunity at a friend’s house the first thought he had was, “if this looks good I'm gonna call my buddy Charlie Umphred right away. Midway thru the video he jumped up and yelled “That’s my friend Charlie on that video!” He called me that evening to tell me he was now in my “downline!” David built a network in that program and followed us into our 3rd networking business and also built a network of distributors nationwide in that program too.
One week later, David called and said “Hey, I want to get involved in your soap deal!” He was kiddingly telling me that, although he was not a “candle guy” he really loved our soap! (I get that from lots of men, believe it or not!) Although David is very busy with his current situation where he is in management for a large telecommunications company, he loves the fact that thru the networking of people across the country he can develop a second or primary income without sacrificing his main income. And if anyone ever wondered “Do real men like candles and soap?" David is an avid motorcyclist, skier, backpacker and camper!

| A Fond Farewell to Our College-Bound Work-Mates | ||
Scent-Sations Inc had the pleasure of hiring and working with four college students during their summer break. All will be missed but know they have a job to come back to next summer!
Brian Gildea is attending Temple University and majoring in Advertising.
